A topic sentence that would be good to explore for Spring Break would be "Eater Sunday". Easter Sunday was a day I was able to eat rice again. Having to give up rice for lent was a painful yearning temptation. I was able to develop will power to resist the severe longing for rice.
ReplyDeleteI gave up rice too! But I gave it up in February and the only rice I plan to eat after lent is sushi. :P
DeleteI wish to give up on eating rice sometimes. I think it seems too hard.
DeleteI wish I could give rice up! I did before, but now it just seems so hard.
DeleteIt is hard, but when you realize that you are quickly gaining weight it helps not to have it.
DeleteHow does one eat a meal without rice :(.Good job though its almost easter lol
DeleteI agree with you all. Giving up on rice is hard. I tried before but I failed. What an embarrassment.
DeleteWow! You have a great topic sentence. I could never give up rice. All my meals feel empty without those carbohydrates. I hope somebody brings rice for our class' pot luck!
DeleteThat's is good, the trick is you do not really need to quit rice if you see your gaining more bigger love handles, I simply just switched to complex. "Brown Rice or Quinoa" the results are amazing why i say that is because i did a test on eating white rice for a whole month last year and ran till i dropped all the weight and switched to brown rice or Quinoa. You would be amazed on what you discover would not have to go through that suffering.
DeleteYes, I am bringing rice. I wanted to ask everyone if they prefer red or white rice. And on that day I WILL EAT RICE.
DeleteLaughing silently with Geena about Bryant's comment about "LOVE HANDLES". Shake it but don't break it! hahaha!
DeleteWithout rice, you'll go back to the table twice! Rice fills us up faster than other foods.
DeleteI think that a sentence that would be good to explore for the Spring Break would be: Over the break, I had the opportunity to not only replenish myself but also work on assignments that would be due in the near future. With this sentence, I give the audience the chance to think about what I did to replenish myself and the different assignments I worked on. Regarding today's activities, I had learned more transitional words like the HOTSHOT CAT.
ReplyDeleteI like your sentence because it makes the audience curious about how you replenished yourself. It makes the audience want to continue reading.
DeleteThat is a good topic sentence.
DeleteAwesome.
DeleteReplenish tissue in the restroom. Replenish paper into the xerox machine. Replenish is to put back or refill. Replenish gas into the tank. I'm now confused on how to properly use the word replenish.
DeleteYour topic sentence is very strong! It leaves me wondering, and makes me want to read more! I too have learned about abbreviation HOTSHOT CAT. This will help me in future essays!
DeleteWhen you make a reader curious by your topic, they will read your story. You have a great topic sentence overall! I hope you will soon share what you replenished on over your spring break.
DeleteA topic sentence that I would use is "During Spring Break I ran into many awkward situations.". This topic sentence makes the audience wonder how many awkward situations I ran into and why they were awkward. Today's activities were interesting, especially putting together the steps of changing oil for a car.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good sentence. It makes me wonder what kind of situations you had.
Deletehahaha.. Nice topic sentence. I wonder what they are.
DeleteI also had many awkward situations over spring break thanks for reminding me. lol
DeleteGood one. I'm already wondering and curious to know.
DeleteAwesome topic sentence! It makes your audience wonder how was it awkward, and captures their attention right away. Now we know how to change a car's oil!
DeleteThe topic sentence that would be good to explore during the spring break would be "I wish to take a tour around the beautiful Rock Islands". In this topic sentence I might be talking about some of the experiences that I will be seeing when I take a tour during the spring break....
ReplyDeleteToday class activity was really good. Of course I was able to learn something new. I enjoyed the reading about the writing process analysis. It further explains and it helped me to know how to write a process analysis essay.
It's my dream to visit the beautiful rock islands!
DeleteI have heard so many things about the Rock Islands. It seems like such a beautiful place. I plan to visit there someday.
DeleteWow! Can I come along?
DeleteRock islands? i'll look it up.
DeleteOMG, its been like months I haven't gone to rock islands....uuugghhrrr, I miss them good times at rock islands. That is a awesome topic girlfriend.
DeleteToday's class activities were pertaining to Writing Process Analysis. There are two types of analysis, directive and informative. The process were working with stages, basic forms, combined forms, Career-related writing as process and useful prewriting procedure. The exercise 1 was basically to read the Text-Based Activity and number them by sequence.
ReplyDeleteThe activity was a little difficult for me. I have never changed the oil in a car before and the website I was looking at had different steps than the book.
DeleteInteresting. I also leaned about it.
DeleteHere is my topic sentence. "While on spring break i had the opportunity to travel to a place known as Sin city." Today's class activity was fun. i enjoyed researching about changing the oil in your car. maybe next time i need my oil changed i will do it my self.
ReplyDeleteYou went to Sin City? That's awesome!
DeleteWe don't just learn grammar here, we learn life skills as well.
DeleteId like to see you try and change the oil on your car would be funny to watch. I agree though lol
DeleteMy topic sentence would be "During Spring Break I traveled to a state and ate everywhere and rode everything." Having that topic sentence will get the audience to read to wonder what places I ate at, and what amusement parks I went to. Also benefiting me because I can write so much about it, and really putting the 5 senses in to a very interesting essay. Today's activities were very interesting such as doing Exercise 1 on the step by step process on changing the oil in your car. I really learned some thing new today in class, now I do not need to take it to a auto shop and pay 40-50 dollars on some thing that can be done at home! Other than that some of the other exercises were a really good refresher because it reminded me of a couple of things we learned at the beginning of the semester.
ReplyDeleteVery curious of what you ate and rode lol.
DeleteThe oil changing lesson not only changed my oil, it changed my life.
DeleteA place to go and have the good times of your life. For example, if I were to spend my Spring Break next semester, I would love to spend it at Greece next time. Greece is one of the most amazing places in the world. I would love to go and experience the beauty of Greece itself.
ReplyDeleteToday's activities was awesome. Basically, I love this class. Every activity we do in class is always new.
I agree! One day we learn about how to organize your writing process the next we talk about changing oil.
DeleteGreece is such a good place for vacation. I wish to go there someday.
DeleteI agree. I like your topic sentence due to bias mostly because I would also like to go to Greece someday.
DeleteIndeed, Greece is one of the places I would like to go. I would like to experience the scenery and atmosphere of the capital. Also, the class time is amusing especially when we all answer the oil changing process.
DeleteA topic sentence that I would choose is: Over spring break, I felt really lazy and carefree! I think we all can relate to being absolutely lazy at times. Today's class activities were very informative and fun! I learned that having a clear outline helps reduce confusion. I also learned that if I needed my oil changed, I should ask YaiJee for help.
ReplyDeleteJust by reading that I'm already curious and wanting to read your essay! I agree man we all get those lazy days and we should all ask YaiJee for some car help!
DeleteYaiJee was definitely on a role today with exercise 1. It was crazy how we were on the same exact site, but had different answers!
DeleteI think that your topic sentence is, very prone to relation between reader and writer, as you said in your paragraph.
DeleteI could not agree more with your topic choice. We tend to be lazy because we want to relax and stress-free
DeleteThe topic sentence that I would use to explore Spring Break would be "Spring Break was much different than from what I had expected." This sentence would make the audience wonder how was spring break different from my expectations. Was it good or bad and what happened during spring break that was different. Today's activities were very informative on how to further organize your writings. We discussed the Writing Process Analysis in which there are two forms directive and informative. We also learned how to change your car oil.
ReplyDeleteYou clearly understand the assignment. Your topic sentence is very strong. It makes your audience dying to read on. I would love to read that essay. I too have learned how to change a car oil! We also learned how proper outlining would help lessen confusion!
DeleteI like the topic sentence you chose. I definitely agree with it.
Delete"During spring break, I submerged myself into another dimension." Which implies that I spent most of the spring break lost in a book. I would say that topic sentence is pretty vague but it captures the readers attention.
ReplyDeleteToday's activities was pretty alright. I didn't know much about steps the book gave us.
I agree, I was rather confused with today's activity as well.
DeleteYour topic really captured my attention. I love reading books that make me get lost in it. Nice choice.
DeleteMy topic sentence I would discuss is "Over spring break, I went on the zip-line for the first time." It will capture a reader's attention by the description of my experience and location. Writing about the experience can help me explain briefly what happened during that time. Today's class activity was very interesting. I learned the correct way of changing oil in a car.
ReplyDeleteA topic sentence that I would use during the break is, "During the break I had to had a poetry competition." I would go through the process of how I had to compete in the islands grand slam, where a bunch of teen poets competed to be on Guam's national team. I feel that this is a topic i can explore simply because it's the only thing i can remember vividly during the break. In class we went through the process of going through steps and processing. I learned that it is extremely difficult to write about something you have very little knowledge of, and to write a process it is advisable to do research of the process. Today's activity was definitely challenging since it required me to research a topic i knew nothing of, however, I tried my best in following through.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very productive way of spending your spring break. So how did you do in the competition? Did you make the national team?
DeleteYour topic is very interesting. I would definitely read it solely because it is pertaining to poetry. I happen to love poetry.
DeleteAs for my topic about spring break, I would write, " During Spring Break, I felt more accomplished and relax due to a few activities. One thing everyone loves about spring break is relaxation. Students taking a break from their hardwork and classes allows their minds to be at ease. I would also emphasis Easter Sunday because it is the day that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today's class activity is uniquely amusing. The process analysis, in summary, is writing how things is done in a direct or informative description. Researching your topic before the process analysis is very important in order to give your readers the correct information.

DeleteI agree. Of course due to no classes students get to experience a stress free week. I really like how you emphasized Easter Sunday being the celebration of Christs Ressurection Day. If it was up to me, I would not call it Easter Day and symbolize an Easter bunny. I would call it Ressurection Day so that everyone understands what this day is all about.
DeleteThe topic sentence for exploring Spring Break can be "The plans that I wanted to achieve in Spring Break did not work." My topic would make audience wonder what plans I could not achieve in Spring Break, and they could be able to know my Spring Break was not really good. Today's activities were really helpful to me because exercises that we did today were interesting to me, so I could participate well.
ReplyDeleteGood job YaiJee! You owned today's activity!
DeleteI can relate to your topic sentence. My spring break did not go according to planned either.
DeleteInteresting choice of topic. Nothing goes as planned for me either.
DeleteMy topic sentence would be " Spring break was calm and serene which focused on deep concentration of my personal thoughts and relaxation by the beach." My topic would focus on how I perceived my spring break this year. It is definitely a different way of expressing how spring break should be experience. Today's activities focused on the writing process analysis which comprised of two forms of directive and informative. I personally enjoyed learning how to change oil and making a lawn.
ReplyDeleteThats an interesting topic. Sounds like you had a very relaxing spring break. I agree it is a different way of expressing how spring break should be experienced.
DeleteI lie your topic of choice. Spring break was calm and serene for me as well.
DeleteThat is very well said topic. I felt the same way during my spring break.
DeleteMy topic sentence for Spring break would be, "I was unable to accomplish any plans I had in store for my spring break." The readers would be interested in what my plans were and why I was not able to accomplish them.
ReplyDeleteIndeed. This topic does make the readers curious on what is your plan that you are unable to accomplish. It tells a mystery behind your spring break
Delete"This Spring break was about capturing moments and making memories." I choose this as my topic sentence because I could really go into detail about it. My family and I were able to take a break from school, daycare, work, and were able to spend it with each other without the passer-byes. Spring break provided emotional, not to mention physical stress relief.
ReplyDeleteA good topic sentence to explore for spring break would be," On the year 2009, Palau banned commercial fishing and became a protected marine sanctuary." This is a good topic to explore about because it is something different and interesting to keep the readers attention. Also, it is for them to know a little bit about Palau.
