I was not very prepared for the test. I didn't expect that finding sources as well as citing them would be so time consuming. Next time I will make sure that I will find my sources ahead of time so that I will not run out of time. Todays activities were the same as any test day where we discuss our essay and what we learned. Majority of the topics were about teen suicide and teen gang affiliations.
ReplyDeleteWell their is always a next time.Good luck. And I myself sometimes not prepared for our class for some reason. But its okay we can always make it up for what we missed.
DeleteYou are not alone. I wasn't prepared as well! Better luck next time for us both!
DeleteThrough this experience, we have learned various of things to do before writing an essay. I think that although some of us did not do so well in this essay, we have learned through our mistakes and we can do much better in the future!
DeleteI agree. I had very poor time management approaching this essay and I fell to the consequences. On the other hand, I learned to not do this in future essays. I feel that experience in many contexts is valuable especially the experience of failure.
DeleteTest #3 went well, I was prepared for it. I finished Test#3 in time to turn it in during class. I wrote about daily exercise and its benefits for our health and overall life. Today's activities was good, we were able to discuss our essay, our topic sentence, and what we had learned from writing it. It was interesting listening to everyone's essays and what they had learned!
ReplyDeletegood job! I was not really prepared for the speech. I understand exercising is a good routine. I used to exercise now is hard for me to get back. I would rather do insanity and P90X lol.
DeleteGreat job! keep it up because were heading to the finish line. And I agree with you today's activity was still great. Listening to all of you is really helping me and motivate me to do great in our class and everything.
DeleteNice! Yeah, you were like the first one to turn it in. Maybe I should try doing it ahead of time and getting it done instead of procrastinating! Keep it up!
DeleteThat's good to hear that you were prepared for test #3. Your topic seems very interesting since it covers health and wellness. It was indeed a great day of class and it was nice to hear what everyone has to say and share with everybody. What I really loved about the class was the time we had to share what we learned because it was very nice to hear everyone's story.
DeleteI admit that I was not prepared that much for this particular test. For me , it was a little challenging to write exposition because it requires a little research in order to write it. But since I have personal experience for my topic, it went kind of easy. I put what struggle I had to got through when I moved to add a little perspective rather than just facts and statistics.
ReplyDeleteWe have one more test good luck whatever you do. I never tired this so called blog but I ma getting used to it. Dr. Rivera is a awesome professor I hope she teach EN110 class. I had her for a class before it was like I just had a flashback.
DeleteI agree with you. I wasn't prepared as well. Better luck next test!
DeleteIt is always good to challenge ourselves with these different kinds of writing. Although I am more used to writing Argumentative and Descriptive essays, it was refreshing yet challenging to write something different. I hope I could get another opportunity to write this kind of essay in the future.
DeleteI reflected on my music in the class discussion. I didn't put much detail, but I tried my best to make it precise. I made of a thought of what to present through my time of researching. Expository Essay is hard but as your progress it get more intense. I know their is going to be more to do in the future so, mine as prepare now and suffer later.
ReplyDeleteI like your topic. You did a great job in sharing yours. I did learn something from yours. Great job! keep it up.
DeleteTest #3 was very good. I was sort of prepared because one of the topics was about animals and I love animals. I knew some facts about my animals that I chose. Test #3 was a bit harder than the first test because you had to know information about your topic.
ReplyDeleteI agree test #3 was good. I did also like animals. I think we have something in common. Keep it up because were almost their to the finish line.
DeleteGreat choice of topic! It is always good to pick topics that you are interested in. I believe if you do this, you are more likely to do well in your essays. And I agree that this exam was more difficult to write than the first one since you would have to know more information than what you already know.
DeleteI am totally prepared for the test#3. Good thing I did the take home test, and I finished it and turn it in during class session. We also did what we usually do during our test. Each on of us stand and present their topic, thesis, and what they learned from their writing. I think the sharing was really helpful, because it helps each of us the student to learn from each others. We should do this more. And about today's class it was short and it's still well organized and helpful. Today's was great!
ReplyDeleteI am very well prepared for Exam #3.The strategies are I have done my research on investigating the idea on why getting a license is an important event in the lives of many teenagers. Furthermore, I did a rough draft on my essay by free writing, done a self and peer revision, and edited my essay.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to today's activities, I I was also well prepared. I was ready to share my topic, thesis statement, and what I have learned on writing my essay. I really need to get my license because I am tired on relying on someone to pick me up from either school and work.
It's nice to hear that you're well prepared for test #3 and that you have used effective strategies to better your essay. Your topic is interesting since it covers what happens in today's society. For teenagers these days, a drivers license is a necessity in order to them to perform daily tasks and; yes it is better to get your license to save you time ad also reduce stress when it comes to asking someone for a ride.
DeleteI really see that you were very prepared for your test #3! It is really important to do these initial research before writing your essay to be able to ensure the factual evidences of your stance.
DeleteTest #3 was a little more challenging, however the subject I chose helped because I have experience. I chose the topic describe the major stressors in teens' lives. As a teen, I still have these stressors and I know how to describe each one. Also, researching how to prevent each one was a plus. I was prepared, but though this test took a little more time. Preparation for this test took a little bit of research but that was interesting to find results. Great class session sharing what we learned!
ReplyDeleteI agree that test #3 was challenging compared to the previous one's. Like you, I also had experience with my topic and it helped me so much. Mine was about how moving from place to place affects teenagers. It was an interesting topic to write about and it was like I'm sharing to the class a part of my life when I wrote this essay.
DeleteI actually left my original paper at home, so I had to take the in class test. I was not prepared at all. It was difficult to remember half of what I wrote about and where I got my research from. Though, I think I did okay. Hopefully I will be more prepared next time and try not to forget anything.
ReplyDeleteThat's unfortunate to hear that you left your essay at home. I would had a hard time remembering what I wrote too, if I were in your position. But despite of that, at least you made it in class and made up for it. Be much prepared net time and try to save your file on google drive. This way, you could access it at school and print out your file.
DeleteUnfortunately, I was unable to go to class to drop in my test during class. Although, I actually enjoyed this test more than the previous ones. The topics were great, I was able to relate to majority of them, which made it difficult for me to choose a good topic for the test.I was able to use the tools I have learned prior to the taking the test. Overrall, I enjoyed taking this test.
ReplyDeleteI think I was not as prepared as I wanted to be. Definitely missing the class was the most difficult part in writing this essay. Hopefully, I could do better in my future essays.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I wasn't as prepared as I would want to be for this test. My sources were not specific enough and I did not follow the guidelines for this essay. I also feel that I became too passionate about my topic that I gradually strayed from my outline and went on a tangent. I learned from this essay and I hope to become a better writer in the future.
