  1. As an English teacher's daughter, I've come to use editing in everyday life. Whenever I read something, I'm constantly looking out for mistakes in punctuation, grammar, or word use. I find that editing is my favorite part of the writing process, the one that I use the most, and also the one that I spend the most time on. Editing plays a big role in writing because it's the last step before you turn you submit your essay.

  3. Today's activities were very informative. I felt that I learned a lot about the argumentative essays and how they are meant to express how you feel toward the topic you've chosen. I have to keep in mind while choosing a topic that I would want to choose a topic that is something I have interest and have a lot to say about. I'm also kind of nervous about our first test that'c coming up. But other than that today's class period was very beneficial.

  5. My thoughts on today's activity about editing is important for the final stage of the writing process. You look for errors in capitalization, grammar, punctuation as well as spelling. Editing them will make it easier for the editors to correct your essay.

    1. When writing your essay, revising and editing is always crucial. The importance of this is that this helps the writer look over their work and see what works and what doesn't. I agree!

    2. Overlooking your work is in fact crucial for any writer. I agree, it does help the writer see what works best.

  6. Today's activities is very interesting. Aside from presenting my unfinished classwork essay to the class, I learned the difference between an expository essay and an argumentative essay. Unlike an expository essay, an argumentative essay must provide an extensive amount of research and facts. This can be similar to my research paper back in high school. When you are in the editing process, you must follow the C.L.U.E.S.S, and C.G.P.S. This is something that I wish I should have learn properly and concisely. Overall, I am thankful for learning and enjoying the class time.

  7. Today's main topic were about argumentative and persuasive essay as well as editing. Argumentative essay is one of my favorite forms of the four major essays. I like this type of essay because I get to argue my point as well as do some detective work, researching. Persuasive essay is basically trying to persuade your audience with whatever topic you have. Most of the time you persuading your audience by presenting the pros and cons of your topic. Editing is the last stage of the writing process and my favorite. I like this process because its brief and all you do is edit your writing.

    2. I agree with you. Argumentative essays are meant to be solved in a analytical and persuasive way, in order to prove that you are correct. It is like you said, "a detective work" because it really is just finding for answers and proving it with evidence.

  8. In today's activities, I learned many useful techniques for editing and writing argumentative essays. One of the most useful techniques in editing is reading your writing aloud, so that you could find any flaws or anything that does not sound grammatically correct. Writer's should always ask someone to read their writing, which help them find for errors other people could spot. It is very useful to edit your writing because it allows for improvement and effective writing.

    2. Yes, I definitely agree with you. It is a very helpful technique. You would not be able to miss any errors when your reading aloud.

    3. These techniques were very useful especially when you miss hidden errors in your essay. This is something that I need to apply for my essay because I constantly struggle during the editing process. Reading aloud helps to make your essay clear and concise while peer reviewing helps point out the missing errors and why is there an error.

  10. In today's activity I learned a lot about editing and the final processes of writing an essay.I learned today that it is more advisable to edit using a computer checker because checking ourselves has a higher chance of us missing grammar errors and simple spelling checks.i also learned that the argumentative essay requires much more research than an expository essays. one of the many things that i also found out today is that writing can also be a form of release, in the activity of presenting the final drafts of our free writes. in conclusion, i learned many things from the class session today, that i can apply solely to my writing, and also to my personal view towards it.

    3. I agree this class blog is another way of networking for our peers. Some people may be a bit shy in person but posting on each others blogs daily will sort of make us more comfortable with each other before conversing physically.

    4. Entering Blogs are new to me. Posting blogs gives me an opportunity to learn who's who and how our society has changed and developed through technology. Interacting through the internet is a benefit but come time for public speaking can and will be entirely different. Also, another important opinion of mine is we should try to interact with each other in person. It is to keep it real and distinguish the difference between on line personality and real life people personality. Yes, some people are shy but that can all change. :)

  12. Today's topics were very helpful on informing me on how to differentiate between the different types of essays, most especially on how an argumentative essay is different from all the others. Unlike the other essays, extensive research is needed in order to strongly state your point and to get your idea understood by the reader. I really liked today's activity's because argumentative essays are my personal favorites. Through these essays you get to research on your topic and learn more on it as you go along. Editing is also a very crucial part in finalizing your essay. Because of this you can reread your essay and determine what needs to be changed, what should stay, and what should be taken out.

  13. I often enjoy editing others papers a lot more than my own. It usually takes someone else to point out my grammar errors and other common mistakes one might miss so easily. Today"s activity on the argumentative/persuasive essay was really simple to read, just following the text, but I am sure its probably going to be a challenge for me more than the others if not the same. For the most part, editing plays a huge role in our everyday lives in every form of communication. It's a way of putting all the missing pieces together to get a certain level of understanding that is appropriate and easier for you.

Learning about an argumentative essay, my skills of writing essay are more grown. I would be able to edit my essay clearly before I finish it. Learning about editing skills in essay, my essay would have a certain main idea, and it would not have too much errors of grammar, spelling, and word. It was a meaningful day.

  16. I feel writing the argumentative essay is among the most challenging styles of essays due to the reliable research that we need to provide to support our thesis. I cant choose a topic so fast until I do research on possible topics that I would be interested in so I can determine which has the most reliable information. We also went over editing. Im glad we got to go over the editing portion so that I know exactly how to edit for peer reviews.
